When Science Meets Woo

We’re living in unprecedented times. The whole universe seems to be conspiring to help us tap into our highest potential often without our awareness and the truth is, it can sometimes feel extremely unsettling as things are unearthed beneath us. 

As some one who has been interested in the Spiritual “woo” side of things for a long time I am loving how the “woo” meets the science more and more each day. What was once dismissed as “out there” or purely spiritual is now being backed up by hard data and research. Concepts like gratitude, the energy we put out into the world, NLP, subconscious reprogramming, EFT tapping, and hypnotherapy… these are no longer just “fluffy” spiritual practices. The science is rolling in and it’s undeniable.

Take gratitude, for example. It’s not just about feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Studies have shown that a regular gratitude practice can literally rewire our brains for positivity. It increases feel-good neurotransmitters like dopamine, boosts our mood, and even improves our physical health. By focusing on what we already have, we open ourselves up to receive even more good stuff.

And then there’s the whole “like attracts like” idea. It’s not just some airy fairy concept… it’s real. The energy we emit is a magnet, drawing similar energy back to us. When we put out positivity and abundance, that’s what we get back. It’s a universal law, and it’s backed up by quantum physics.

Through my NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) training we learned all about hacking our brains to break free from limiting patterns. By reframing our thoughts and consciously choosing our words, we can reprogram our subconscious minds for success. It’s like updating the software of your mind, and the studies are proving its power. NLP has been used for decades to help people overcome phobias, boost confidence, and even increase sales performance.

EFT tapping and hypnotherapy are also getting their day in the scientific sun. These modalities have been around for a while, but now we’re seeing the hard data on how they impact our brains and bodies. By tapping into our body’s energy meridians or accessing our subconscious minds through hypnosis, we can release blocks and fears that have held us back for years. Studies have shown that EFT can lower cortisol levels, reduce anxiety, and even help with weight loss. Hypnotherapy has been proven to help with everything from smoking cessation to improving athletic performance.

I’ve weaved all of these wonderful techniques into all of my services and I’d love to have you join us in honoring yourself, deepening your self-awareness, self-compassion, intuition and re-wiring your subconscious mind. Here are a few ways to do that:
