On hypnosis, subliminals, and the relief of being ready.
I just re-emerged from a self-guided hypnosis session and as I was waking back up, I had this moment of pure, quiet awe.
Hypnosis is such a cool, wild experience. You aren’t really asleep (though it’s perfectly fine if you drift off). Your conscious mind is still right there, leaning against the doorframe, aware of everything. Your subconscious, however, is busy doing the heavy lifting, shifting into the patterns you actually desire instead of the ones you inherited by accident.
As I was laying there, I thought: I know I could just get up and move at any moment. I have that power. And yet, I stayed. I was so peaceful. So happy.
Then the audio started guiding me back, step by step. Awareness in the body. Stretching fingers and toes. A deep breath. I’m following along, still feeling like I’m in a bit of a lala land—restful, grounded, and quiet. Then the instruction comes: “Eyes wide open.”
Pop. There go my eyes. Wide awake.
I love hypnosis because I wake up feeling refreshed, knowing something shifted but feeling relieved of the burden to “go do.” Whatever my subconscious wants my conscious mind to act on will show up for me in the right way at the right time. No forcing. No frantic checking of the to-do list. Just alignment.
The Science of the “Shift”
If you’re a high-achiever, you’ve likely been trained to believe that “doing” is the only way to get results. But your subconscious mind is responsible for about 95% of your behavior. When you only work with your conscious mind (the other 5%), you are essentially trying to steer a massive ship with a plastic spoon.
Hypnosis and Subliminals are the ways we actually talk to the captain of the ship.
I often get asked: Heather, which one do I need? While they both target the subconscious, they play different roles in your E.A.S.E. journey.
| Feature | Hypnosis | Subliminals |
| The Vibe | A deep dive. A dedicated “appointment” with your subconscious. | A steady current. A supportive background track. |
| How it Works | Uses guided relaxation to bypass the “critical filter” of the conscious mind. | Positive affirmations are masked by music/nature sounds, whispering directly to the subconscious. |
| Best For | Big shifts: rewriting old trauma, breaking deep habits, or building specific confidence (like public speaking). | Maintenance: reinforcing new beliefs, staying regulated during work, or shifting your mood on the fly. |
| Time Needed | 15–30 minutes of dedicated, eyes-closed time. | Zero extra time. Play them while you work, cook, or sleep. |
After I “popped” my eyes open today, I put on a subliminal audio and simply got back to work. Hypnosis did the heavy lifting of the shift; the subliminal is now sustaining that new sense of “ready.”
Your 60-Second Micro-Shift
You don’t need a full hour to start communicating with your subconscious. If you’re feeling the pressure of a “should-do” list right now, try this:
- Close your eyes. (Yes, right now, even for 30 seconds).
- Locate the pressure. Where is the “need to do” sitting in your body? Your chest? Your jaw? Just notice it without trying to fix it.
- Offer a new script. Whisper (internally or out loud): “My readiness is already handled. I am allowed to move with ease.”
- The “Pop.” Take one sharp, deep inhale, and on the exhale, open your eyes wide.
Notice if the room looks a little brighter or if the “weight” in your chest has shifted even 1%. That tiny bit of space? That’s where your intuition lives.
This is the work we do in my customized hypnosis sessions—targeting everything from radical self-trust to allowing yourself to finally be seen as the expert you are. We clear the noise so you can finally hear yourself.
The Glimmer Toolkit
- The Glimmer Awareness Moment: Find one object near you that is perfectly still. Notice how it doesn’t have to “do” anything to exist. Allow yourself that same permission for three seconds.
- The Reflection Prompt: If your “readiness” was a fact rather than a feeling you had to earn, what would you do differently in the next hour?
- The Somatic Drop-In: Gently tap your collarbone with your fingertips for 10 seconds while repeating the word “Ready.” —
