Big Life, Quiet Mind: What if “Existing Loudly” Didn’t Have to Be a Performance?

I have a sweatshirt that says Exist Loudly.

I love that phrase. To me, it’s a heartbeat. It’s about being your most authentic, vibrant self, out loud and on purpose. It’s the work I love most—helping women and queer folks take up every inch of the space they were meant to occupy.

But here is the distinction that matters: Existing loudly doesn’t mean you have to be in the front of the room at all times. It doesn’t mean your energy is a public utility that everyone gets to plug into whenever they want.

You can exist loudly and still be still. You can be a force of nature and still move slowly.

The Art of Showing Up (Without Giving Yourself Away)

Existing loudly is a state of being, not a volume of doing. When you are aligned, your presence is felt whether you are shouting from a stage or sitting in quiet reflection.

Here is how you show up loudly while staying grounded in your own peace:

  • Trust the Stillness: You don’t have to “do” something to prove you exist. Sometimes the loudest thing you can do is sit in your own skin and be completely, quietly okay with yourself.
  • Move at Your Own Pace: Speed is not a requirement for impact. You can be slow, deliberate, and intentional, and still be the most powerful person in the conversation.
  • Ditch the “Shoulds” for the “Results”: Stop doing things just because you feel like you “should.” If an action doesn’t feel good at the moment, check in with the result. If you want the result, do it from that place of desire, not obligation.
  • Keep Your Energy for Yourself: You are allowed to be visible without being “available.” You can share your brilliance and still keep your inner world private and protected.

The Power of the Reservoir

The beauty of living this way—of choosing The E.A.S.E. Pathway™ over effort—is that you stop leaking energy.

When you prioritize your rest and your nervous system, you aren’t shrinking. You’re building a reservoir. You’re trusting that when the moment actually calls for you to be front and center, you will have the energy to do it—not because you performed your way there, but because you’ve been honoring your design all along.

Alignment is what makes “Existing Loudly” sustainable. It’s how you lead a big, beautiful, queer, vibrant life without burning out before the party even starts.

You Don’t Need Another Strategy. You Need a Space to Land.

If the idea of “working on yourself” feels like just another thing on your to-do list, I want to invite you to The Glimmer Lab.

Most “self-care” feels like a performance. Another hour where you’re expected to process, produce a “breakthrough,” or fix something about yourself. The Glimmer Lab is different.

This is a once-a-month live sanctuary held on Zoom (with replays available) for women and queer folks who are tired of white-knuckling their way through life. We don’t dig for trauma here. We don’t “work” on ourselves. We simply expand our capacity for joy by helping the body find the Glimmers—those tiny, vital sparks of safety and delight that already exist in your world.

Reflection Question

Where in your life are you currently “performing” your existence instead of just inhabiting it? What would change if you gave yourself permission to be still?

Somatic Drop-In

Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Take a breath that feels like an exhale all the way down to your feet. Notice the weight of your body in your chair. Remind your nervous system: I am here. I am allowed to take up space. I don’t have to do anything to earn this moment.
