  • Being radically authentic means trusting yourself and those around you.
  • Humans can become our fullest, richest, “most pungent” selves just before death, but we have all the tools to step into our brave right now.

Show Notes:

Now’s the time for Radical Authenticity.

In this solo episode, Heather Vickery shares a story of growth, self-trust, and vulnerability.

Tune in to hear Heather’s personal journey towards embracing her true colors and how she uses this experience to help others be their most authentic selves, build authentic businesses, and live a more fulfilling life.

You don’t have to wait until the end of your life to be the bravest, most authentic version of yourself. You can, in fact, show up, RIGHT NOW, in the world with honesty, integrity, and truth.

But to do so, you must practice radical authenticity. You cannot be successful without being radically authentic. The BRAVE method calls upon us to look at ourselves and our lives through the most honest lens possible: To set boundaries, to sit in our mistakes and lessons, to admit fault, to ask for help, and do the hard work. Nothing is more radically authentic than that.

A Granddaughters Tale

When Heather thinks of those who stepped into radical authenticity at the end of life, she thinks about her maternal grandmother. This compelling story of a woman and her grandmother is one that many of us can resonate with. Life is so busy, and we often overlook something as seemingly simple as a parent or a grandparent. We take it for granted.

Growing up, Heather knew that she and her grandmother were on the polar opposites of the political spectrum. And even with her strong will and her loud mouth, Heather knew that coming out to her Granny would be one of the hardest things she's ever done in her life. It was also one of the most impactful and life-changing experiences possible.

For Heather, her grandmother was like the fall leaves, at the end of her life: Brilliant, bold, beautiful. In the end, Granny cared only about what was in her heart rather than what society told her to care about.

How are you showing up for yourself?

How can you be the boldest, most beautiful, brilliant version of yourself right now? How can you choose to step into your brave and live authentically instead of being afraid, instead of waiting until the end when you don't have control over the dialogue any more? How can you choose, bravely, to be radically authentic? The truth is, only you can answer these questions. It’s up to you. The clock is ticking, and the time is now.

Ready to step into your BRAVE?

Starting on December 8th, we will hold The Brave Method Workshop. We will explore a powerful five-part system called the BRAVE method to help you build the groundwork to live a bolder, happier, and more fulfilling life. The event is entirely free, but you have to register to attend.

If you're ready to make the BRAVE leap, let's do it together. We will meet for a live training every day from December 8th to December 17th at 1:30 pm central. We will also have special closed-door Zoom sessions if you're interested in doing a deep-dive into each day's topic. There's a detailed workbook that you get for free if you show up and do the hard work.

Upcoming Gratitude Episode

Typically, we air a Gratitude Special on Thanksgiving. Listeners call in and describe what they're most grateful for from the past year. This year, though, we decided to do something a little different. Since we’re all looking forward to a fresh start and a clean slate in 2021 we thought having a New Year gratitude episode would be a fun way to start off the year! Starting December 1st, you can call in and describe what you're most grateful for and help us ring in the New Year with abundance and joy. Stay tuned for details and check out the last few Gratitude Specials we’ve featured here, here, and here.
