This one’s for the version of you that keeps rounding down.
Let’s get one thing straight before we go any further: this isn’t a “go get ’em, set some audacious goals” kind of piece.
I’m not here to hype you into wanting more. I’d much rather talk about something quieter and a lot more insidious — the number of times you’ve quietly agreed to accept less, dream smaller, play smaller… because somewhere along the way you learned to believe that wanting more was being greedy or would make you too much.
Too ambitious. Too loud. Too much for a woman, too much for the room, too much period.
So you settled. Maybe not dramatically. Perhaps just a little, over and over, until “a little less than what I actually want” started to feel like all you were worthy of instead of a habit you picked up to stay safe or something someone else told you was true.
This isn’t about hustle
Here’s where a lot of “permission to thrive” content gets it wrong. It tells you the fix is bigger goals, more audacity, more grind. “Go get it, girl.”
But that’s not actually the gap, at least not for everyone. Maybe you already have huge dreams, and you’re quietly sabotaging them one small decision at a time or you’ve been trained to think they are unatainable. Or maybe you’ve been so conditioned to keep things “reasonable” that you’re not even letting yourself dream that big in the first place. Both are the same root problem wearing different outfits.
That’s a totally different problem than motivation. Motivation isn’t the issue. Permission is.
Where the shrinking started
Nobody wakes up one day and decides to want less. It’s trained in, slowly, by every moment where wanting more got you a raised eyebrow, a “must be nice,” or a very clear signal that you’re not entitled to more or it’s greedy to want more, or even that you’d be easier to be around if you just wanted a little less.
Let me be painfully clear here – that is all bullshit. The most disgusting, nasty bullshit ever.
If you’ve ever felt any of these things I need you to know that it’s not a personal failure. I promise you, it’s not you, it’s the conditioning working exactly as designed. And once you can see it as conditioning instead of a character trait, you get to actually do something about it, rather than just simply trying to “think more positively” about it.
What actually shifts this
I’m a big fan of mindset. Having a positive outlook and mindset is super important as a foundation for any type of growth. We know for a scientific fact that what you focus on grows – mindset matters. But if mindset alone could get you where you wanted to go, you’d already be there.
This is the part where the EASE Pathway™ comes in, because “just believe in yourself more” was never going to touch this.
Explore is where you get honest about where you’ve been shrinking. Not to judge it, just to see it clearly. Where do you go quiet? What do you downgrade before you even say it out loud?
Align is where you start trusting what’s actually true for you again, even when it’s inconvenient for other people. Your wants don’t need anyone else’s approval to be valid.
Simplify and Shift is the real work. The subconscious patterns underneath all of this don’t move because you decided to be braver. They move because you go in and actually rewire what your nervous system learned about being visible, being wanted, taking up space. That’s not hustle. That’s release.
And all of these working together lead to you being able to carry more but feel like you’re holding less as you Embody Expansion.
Give yourself permission to dream that big
Here’s the permission you’ve been waiting for to dream bigger than you’ve ever imgined. I’m talking big, hairy, adiocious goals that scare the living shit out of you. There’s a reason I have “Achiever of Unrealistic Dreams” on my bio – because old versions of me wouldn’t freaking believe what I’ve achieved in my lifetime. But here we are, and I’m still going and going.
Start by dreaming without a ceiling. This is not about dreaming reasonable.. It’s not the dream you already downgraded secretly in your mind. I’m talking big fucking dreams, at full size, before anyone else gets a vote on whether it’s too much or you’re worthy enough.
That’s exactly what my free Dreamscaping mini course is built for. It walks you through dreaming bigger than you’ve let yourself dream in a long time, maybe ever. With this exercise there’s no built-in editor telling you to round it down.
After you’ve done this free mini course you can pair that with actually understanding your Human Design, how you’re wired to move through the world in the first place, and suddenly something shifts in a way that’s attainable and achievable. You stop forcing your way toward goals that were never really yours, and you start noticing pathways and opportunities you couldn’t even see before, because they’re finally the right shape for you.
Don’t be the reason you play small.
What this actually looks like day to day
I’m not suggesting a to-do list. None of us need more things to do. This is more like a slow return to yourself.
It might mean saying the actual number of your financial goal instead of the smaller one you thought sounded more reasonable. It might mean staying in the room instead of leaving before anyone can tell you you’re too much. It might mean letting yourself feel good about something instead of immediately deflecting to the next thing that needs doing.
None of that requires more effort but it does require awareness, taking radical responsibility for yourself and it requires less bracing and waiting for the other shoe to drop. It’s time to exhale, isn’t it?
Playing small was never a requirement. It wasn’t even really your idea. It was something you were handed, and you get to hand it back with a “fuck no.” You don’t even have to be polite about it.
You don’t need permission to want more. You already have it. What you need is to stop practicing wanting less.
And if you can feel the pattern under this, the actual thing that’s been rounding your wants down before you even give it a try, that’s exactly what a Subconscious Shift Session is for. One focused session to find what’s running the show and clear it, so wanting more finally feels like relief instead of risk.

If you’ve read this far, something in this article spoke to you. I hope you’re feeling seen and connected. Now let’s take that awareness and actually do something with it. Radical Ease paid subscribers get full access to the Glimmer Toolkit at the end of every article. This is where you stop talking about going from a pressure-filled life to a pleasurable one with more ease and start actually living it. Inside, you’ll find a somatic drop-in, a journaling prompt, and a reframe exercise to help you really lean into that life.
🌿 The Glimmer Toolkit
Somatic Drop-In: Place your hand on your chest and take one slow breath in through your nose. Hold it for a few seconds and then release through your mouth with a sigh. Think of one thing you’ve wanted and quietly talked yourself down from. Notice where your body responds. Send love, energy and hope to that part of your body.
Journal Prompt: Finish this sentence in five different ways: “The thing I’ve been telling myself is too much to want is…” No editing. Let it be as big as it actually is.
Reframe Old story: Identify what a few of your old stories are and then write out the polar opposite of that story. Look for some evidence that the reverse might be true. If you want, send me a DM or reply here and share it with me!
