The Story Your Subconscious Has Been Telling You Isn’t True

I had a computer in my pocket.

Literally, from the moment the iPhone existed, I had a device that meant I could work from anywhere, anytime, with zero excuse to stop. And if I wasn’t making enough money, didn’t have enough clients, wasn’t as busy as I thought I should be? That was on me. I just wasn’t working hard enough.

At least that’s what I thought. That’s what my inner voice was always telling me.

It wasn’t that I thought I was lazy. That’s not quite the right word. It was more specific than that. More relentless. The voice in my head sounded like: you have every tool you need, and you’re still not doing enough with it. What’s your excuse?

I believed that for a long time.

Here’s what I know now: I’m a Projector. And Projectors aren’t designed to work constantly. Nobody is, but Projectors especially. We work in bursts. We need real rest to access our gifts, and that rest has to come before the work. We’re here to guide, see, and offer wisdom, not to grind ourselves into dust trying to match the output of people whose energy literally works differently from ours.

We live in a world built by Generators, for Generators. And I’m most definitely not a Generator.

But I didn’t know that yet. So I just kept believing the story.

The Conditioning Got There Before You Did

Here’s the thing about that story: I wasn’t making it up. I was running a program that got installed long before I had any way to question it.

Your subconscious starts collecting data the moment you arrive in this world. It watches, absorbs, takes notes. It figures out what makes you acceptable and what makes you a problem. And it builds beliefs around all of it — beliefs that feel so true you eventually stop questioning whether they’re actually yours.

In Human Design, your undefined and open centers are your biggest conditioning entry points. They’re where you’re most susceptible to absorbing the energy and expectations of the people around you and mistaking them for your own truth.

My undefined Sacral center — the energy center Generators run on — meant I spent my whole life surrounded by Sacral energy, taking it in, feeling it amp up inside me, and then wondering why I couldn’t sustain it the way everyone else seemed to. Of course, I thought I wasn’t working hard enough. I was measuring myself against people who are literally built to work differently than me.

That’s not a personal failing; it’s stupid fucking conditioning doing exactly what conditioning does.

And even worse, knowing that doesn’t automatically fix it.

The Problem Is Not What You Think It Is

Once I found Human Design and started to understand my design, things began to shift. I finally had language for why I operated the way I did. I knew, intellectually, that I was supposed to rest. That my energy worked differently. That I wasn’t broken or behind or failing some invisible productivity test.

And yet I kept treating myself like I was anyway.

That’s the part nobody warns you about. You can get the reading. You can understand your design. You can know with complete certainty that everything you’ve been beating yourself up about is just conditioning and that voice can still get loud.

Because that voice isn’t living in your conscious mind. It’s that sneaky subconscious mind at work.

Understanding your Human Design is the Explore part of the work. It’s the awareness, the mirror, the moment things finally start to make sense. And it matters enormously. But awareness lives in your conscious mind. The voice lives somewhere else.

Your subconscious controls about 95% of your thoughts, decisions, and behaviors. It’s been running its programs since childhood, and it’s not going to update just because you had a breakthrough in a reading. It updates through repetition, through consistent new input delivered at the level where the old beliefs actually live.

That’s the gap. And you really can’t think your way across it.

Your Conditioning Actually Has a Map

Here’s what I find genuinely fascinating about Human Design from a subconscious reprogramming standpoint: your chart shows you exactly where your conditioning came from.

Your undefined centers are where you absorb other people’s energy, amplify it, and call it yours. Your defined centers have their own conditioning too — the ways your consistent energy gets distorted when fear is running the show instead of alignment.

Your type carries a specific not-self theme — the emotional signal that tells you you’re living out of alignment. Generators feel frustration. Projectors feel bitterness. Manifestors feel anger. Reflectors feel disappointment. These aren’t random feelings. They’re data. They’re your design telling you a conditioned pattern is currently driving.

The subliminal audios I created for the Human Design Subliminal Audio Library are built around exactly this. Not generic positive affirmations. Targeted reprogramming for the specific conditioning patterns your type, centers, profile lines, and authority carry.

For Projectors: the belief that rest is laziness. That waiting is weakness. That your worth is tied to your output, and you need to prove you deserve your place.

For Generators: the belief that saying no is selfish. That your energy belongs to whoever asks for it. That satisfaction is something you earn rather than something you follow.

For Manifestors: the belief that you need permission. That your power makes people uncomfortable, and you should make yourself easier to be around.

For Manifesting Generators: the belief that changing direction means you failed. That your multi-passionate nature is scattered. That you should be able to pick one thing and stay in it like a normal person.

For Reflectors: the belief that your fluid, changing experience means you’re unreliable. That you should be able to decide faster. That your sensitivity is a liability.

These programs didn’t come from nowhere. They came from a world with very specific ideas about what hard work looks like, what success looks like, what a valuable person looks like. You absorbed those ideas before you had any way to question them.

Not your fault. But it is still your work.

The Voice Still Shows Up Sometimes

I want to be super honest with you here.

I’ve done the work. I keep doing the work. I understand my design deeply, and I’ve used every tool in my toolkit on myself — NLP, EFT, hypnosis, subliminals, somatic work, positive psychology, all of it.

And sometimes that voice still shows up and tells me I’m not working hard enough.

It’s not as loud as it used to be anymore. Not as convincing. I’m not as quick to spiral into a whole day of self-criticism. But it’s still there, especially when things are slower, or I catch myself comparing my behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight reel.

But this isn’t a failure story. It’s just an honest one. Subconscious reprogramming isn’t a one-time fix. It’s a practice. The subconscious mind loves repetition. The more you do it, the quieter and less believable the voice becomes over time. But life keeps happening, and conditioning runs deep.

What’s different now is that I have tools. I have language. I can recognize the voice for what it is — a conditioned pattern, not the truth about me — and I know how to interrupt it before it takes over the whole day.

That’s what this work gives you. Not permanent silence, rather a way back to yourself when things get loud.

Here’s Where to Start

If you’ve got a voice running that sounds anything like you’re not doing enough or what’s your excuse or you should be further along by now — that voice has an address. And it’s not your conscious mind.

The Human Design Subliminal Audio Library is where I’d suggest starting. Not because it’s the only tool, but because it’s genuinely the most accessible one. Play it while you sleep. While you work. While you do literally anything else. Let your subconscious start receiving a different message — one that’s actually built around your design instead of against it.

The voice that says you’re not enough? It learned that somewhere.

It can unlearn it too.
